iMovie 10.0.9 update simply hangs with spinning ball.

iMovie 10.0.9 update simply hangs with spinning ball through the Mac App Store update.

I'm running Yosemite 10.10.3 on iMac Intel, everything is up to date. I then seemed to have network problems with Norton Security but that seems to have sorted itself out.

Can you help?

iMac (27-inch Late 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Remove the Norton/Symantec product by following these instructions. If you have a different version of the product, the procedure may be different.

Back up all data before making any changes. Never install any commercial "anti-virus" product again.

You may or may not be aware of the fact that Apple Computers do not need Anti-Virus Software. In particular you do not need any Norton product, because it has shown to be very troublesome, Norton has shown that it causes real problems with Apple Computers. You will find it causes way more problems then it is worth.

Cheers and Good Luck
