How much does Apple music cache?

I've spent about an hour or so streaming music through Apple Music.

I have noticed that my free space has reduced by about 500MB in that time, which leads me to believe that the App is caching content on my device.

How much will it use? I don't have a huge amount of free space left.

There doesn't appear to be any way of deleting cached streamed music. This could become worrying.

(I know this has also been a problem with Spotify, but at least you could delete that App and re-install to remove the cached content).

iOS 8.4

I had a similar experience with streaming music through Apple Music on my iPhone and having the cache eat up all of my free space. I don't have iCloud Music Library or iTunes Match turned on, and I never marked anything to be available offline. Within a day it used up about 500MB of free space and left me with zero, so I deleted a few albums from My Music to free up a couple hundred MB, but then after a few hours of streaming later it was back to to zero free space again, so I deleted a few more albums, then back to zero the next day.

I finally turned Apple Music off, backed up my iPhone to iTunes on my Mac, erased the iPhone, then restored it from the backup. That released over 2GB of free space, even after all of the albums I had deleted from my iPhone to make room for Apple Music cache were restored to it from iTunes.

Apple Music was fun to try, but it's not worth having my phone fill up every few days.
