Issue with the anodized coating on the back of 38 mm silver Apple Watch Sport

Hi everyone,

after almost one month of use I noticed some weird marks on the back, where the watch is against my skin.

I clean it once a day very carefully with just a bit of water on the tips of my fingers, without soap and without any rubbing movement.

As you can see, there are several dark spots and micro-cracks in the coating. A part of the Apple logo has even gone away.

Last week I was at a (German) Apple Store and they said such a damage is not covered by the guarantee. I do not think it can be that normal, after only a few weeks of use. Of course, it is getting worse and worse.

Any more similar cases?

Hello,

you can check my explanation at The anodized coating on the back of my 42 mm space gray Apple Watch Sport has flaked off. I've had my watch for less than a month. Is this covered by Apple Care?

it's happening on my iphone as well.
