Safari developers, you screwed up spell check. I have to turn it off. I cannot use it anymore.
Before, I could select "Back to 'xyz'" and "learn spelling", like in recent TextEdit (1.10).
Please just sync spell checking system- and cloudwide.
System Settings: Preferred languages: German (Switzerland) - Swiss German - German
Safari 8.0.6-OTHER, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
Or you can use your Apple ID to register with this site and go the Apple BugReporter. Supposedly you will get an answer if you submit feedback.
All apple apps should normally use the same system wide spellcheck. What are your settings in system prefs/keyboard/text/spelling/setup? Do you have the same items checked in Safari > Edit > Spelling and Grammar and items below that that you have in TextEdit?
