My iPhone 5 won't turn on after installing new update

I installed the new update on my iPhone 5 and now it won't turn on. The apple symbol appears when I try to turn it on but it then disappears after about 40 seconds. I have it plugged in to a power source but it isn't turning on.

iPhone 5, iOS 8.4
