How do I drop a track from my desktop into a particular album file?

The track is a .wav and the album contains others of its kind. I am using "add to library". When I open the folder to show the tracks, I am attempting to drop the additional one in, but it won't allow me to. What am I missing?

How are you "dropping in" if using the "add to library" menu?

Yes. Add to Library. Then I go to the album and it lists all the tracks. My new song is on the desktop and I am trying to drop it in. But, add to library switches to "desktop" and just shows my song there.
