Protecting iPad Air 2 from heat

I will be driving to Las Vegas through the desert where the temperatures will be 115°.

According to the iPad Air 2 users manual the iPad should be stored at no greater than 113°

I will have the air conditioning on but might be leaving the car for a few minutes to eat.

What can I do to protect my iPad from the heat?

iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 8.1.3, null

A few minutes should not matter, but if for an extended period, I suggest taking it in with you. You will be able to tell if the heat affects it by a warning on the screen. The specifications are referring to extended storage.
