I have a MacBookPro with OSX 10.7.5 software. Creative Cloud requires that I update my computer to OSX 10.9 before I can install the 2015 release. I am very familiar with iphoto and am not ready at this point to join Photo which replaces iphoto. How can I keep my version of iphoto and still update my computer to OSX 10.9?

The new Photos.app requires OS X 10.10.3, so the question doesn't arise if you're only going to 10.9.
This is great news!! Now my question is how to update to just that level of 10.9 ? I don't seem to have options when I select "software update" under the apple icon on the tool bar.

iPhoto works with MacOS X 10.10.4, but but you would need to update to version iPhoto 9.6.1. And you can only update iPhoto versions bought from the AppStore or at least associated wth your AppleID at the AppStore.
