Output volume Dell U2515H w/ Macbook Pro

Hello,

I've connected my Macbook Pro Retina 15" (mid 2014) to my Dell U2515H via HDMI.

The display has an audio output jack to which I've connected my Apple EarPods.

Now the problem is that I cannot change the volume. It's fixed at 100%.

On my Windows PC I can change the output volume for the same EarPods.

Any advice?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
