My iMac has started to log off automatically after some time even if a program such as importing a large number of photos to the photo app or uploading to google photos. This happen after the update to Yosemite. Is there any way to stop this as it interrupts the programs that are running. Thank you

From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Security & Privacy
If there's a closed padlock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane, click it and enter your login password when prompted.
Click the Advanced button and, in the sheet that opens, uncheck the box marked
Log out after … minutes of inactivity
I had already look at this remedy and the log out box was not checked. I, too, am trying to upload photos to iCloud. I don't know if the log out would happen otherwise as this is the one thing I'm trying to get accomplished on this computer.
