not enough storage to take a photo even though i just deleted ten videos and forty pictures???

So, as stated in the subject line, I just tried to take a photo and got a "Not enough storage" error message with the option to go to my storage settings. Instead, I went to my photo albums and deleted a bunch of old photos and videos, at least ten videos and over forty pictures. I shut down and restarted the phone, and when attempting to take a photo, I get the same error message. This must be a bug. Any workarounds short of throwing the phone against a brick wall? Thanks.
