To answer the question literally, there was a variant of the MacDefender malware called MacProtector. However, that malware was around in 2011, and has been extinct for quite some time. It could not possibly infect a Mac running Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8.5).
If you're seeing a pop-up in your web browser telling you that you're infected with MacProtector, and asking you to call a phone number, that is a scam. See:
