Ipod classic 7th generation not synching with Yosemite- how can i get an older version of itunes installed

I know thousands of us have this question. . and APPLE is doing nothing about it! 7th generation, i pod classic, 160 gb, and I can 't sync anything!!!!!!!! 10, 000 songs, podcasts, and more. The devise is not recognized. What is the solution, please? I've tried posting on Twitter to get Apple's attention.

I understand that your iPod isn’t showing as a connected device in iTunes when connected to your computer. To troubleshoot this situation, I would recommend reading over the information in the appropriate link below depending on what type of computer you are using.
