Clicking the Connect tab in iTunes 12.2.0.145 shows error

Since upgrading to iTunes 12.2, I've found a number of bugs and issues. The latest of these is that when I click on the Connect tab, between the Radio and iTunes Store tabs, I get the rather unimformative error message "An error occurred" with an OK button. Clicking on the OK button leaves me with a totally blank window. Subsequently clicking on any of the other tabs still works however.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

OK, it seems I needed to sign into the iTunes store. All is now well. It would have been good if it had told me this.
