how much storage do i need to install iOS 8.4
I have 18.9 MB of storage with a capacity of 5.0 GB om my iPad Mini using iOS 7.1.2.
iPad Mini, iOS 7.1.2, Have available 18.9 MB

I am confused. How much available storage to you have? I do not understand what "a capacity of 5.0 GB " means.
To do an update it seems you need at available capacity at least equal to three times the update.
- Going from 8.4 to 8.4 yo need about 0.7 GB
- Going from 7.x to 8,4 about 5-6 GB
