Jul 12, 2015 7:34 AM in response to Mapple89by scotto75,I had the same issue using the back button after searching using Safari and Google when I run Snow Leopard. Blank screen, then press refresh and the results reappear.
Thought Yosemite would be different, but no. I'm getting exactly the same. Get a list of search results from Google. I select one, have a look, hit the back button and get a blank page. I have to refresh the page to get the results back, and so on and so on. Bit boring after a couple of years of this happening.
My solution..... Firefox and Chrome. Job done.

Jul 18, 2015 8:33 AM in response to Mapple89by JMohr,This started happening for me to after updating to Safari 7.1.7.... I am (still) running Mavericks 10.9.5.
I submitted Feedback to Apple, since this wasn't happening before the Safari update.
It's more of an annoyance than anything. I just press Command+R after clicking the Back button to make the results show up again in Google.

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History and Web Site Data. The down side is it clears all cookies.Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library./Caches/com.apple.Safari/Caches.db and move it to the trash.
Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.

Jul 19, 2015 1:45 PM in response to Mapple89by the5thbeatle,Same problem here. It's not because of Yosemite, because I'm not running Yosemite (it's not compatible with InDesign, so I couldn't upgrade to it).
It's a safari problem, it started after updating to 7.1.7
Fat lot of good these forums do. Does anyone have any real answers? -
Jul 20, 2015 12:20 AM in response to the5thbeatleby Urbain De Langhe,I had the same problem, but solved it by deleting AdBlocker from my Safari-extensions. The problem was not Safari but AdBlocker. (Preferences : extensions: Adblocker : delete)

Jul 20, 2015 12:37 AM in response to Urbain De Langheby freituk,This problem have nothing to do with extension. I never used extensions and all my 4 macs have the problem.

Jul 21, 2015 2:16 AM in response to Mapple89by dfreniche,In my case, this solved the problem. Using Safari 8.0.7 (10600.7.12) on Yosemite 10.10.4
Just go to Safari Preferences > Search and uncheck these two options (screen shown in Spanish, will translate but not sure if that's the same you'll see):
Uncheck:
- activate quick web search
- preload best result in background
Hope this helps

Jul 21, 2015 5:17 AM in response to scotto75by philsh,Those were already unchecked for me. So...
I bought this computer, new, from an Apple store May 1st. I have no extensions. It has happened since late (?) June. So I know that its not a large cache issue, or an extension. Seems like we all started complaining about it around the same time. First days of July.

Jul 21, 2015 8:24 AM in response to philshby mwgrabau,Same problem after recent update. I disabled my ad blocker (AdBlock Plus) for google.com: go to google.com, then uncheck "Enabled on this site" in the AdBlock Plus menu. That fixed it.
