Logic Pro/Express : Startup modifier keys for troubleshooting - Apple Support
In your case Shift and Control held down when launching LPX, might work..... It's called AU-Safe Mode
However, Logic shouldn't crash regarding its own EQ plugin so something else is probably going on.. maybe another 3rd party plugin that is the next to get validated, is at the root of the problem
If it's a corrupted project which is also a possibility or you cannot work out which plugin is really causing the problem then...
Create a new project and use STI (Selective Track Import) to rescue the corrupted project by importing tracks one by one from the old project into the new one..until you find the track and the plugin that is causing this problem...

Jul 4, 2015 2:08 PM in response to The Art Of Soundby Jan Due1,'The Art of Sound', thanks a lot! I found out that it's the 'old' Guitar Rig-Pro Tools conflict. All my Logic projects with GTR on, crashed.
Just like when Yosemite was launched. Apparently the OS X 10.10.4 update combined with the PT 12.1 update made the problem come back.
And I spend some 8-10 hours to realise this. Don't we just love computers and DAW's?
But anyway I learned a few things from checking your links!
