apps not downloading

after updating my iPhone 6 128gb to ios 8.4. I tried to update a game I have. But the app will not download. just get the spinning wheel. app store then freezes and I have to clear it and try again. I have tried WIFI and cellular but no help. I tried restoring my phone, no help. so is this a problem with just the update? app update just fine from iTunes but still show they need updating in app store on phone. If im not on my computer and an app needs to update i can't use it till i get home and sync with iTunes . this *****.
