moving calendar events from one phone to another

I recently switched from iphone 5 to iphone 6. I then noticed a week later after getting my new iphone that my old calendar events were not transferred to my new phone (i6). I very often refer to my old events/dates and the only way I can do it now is by going on my PC and looking on my icloud calendar. Is there any way to transfer these old calendar dates to my newer phone?
