iPad mini box differences (1st gen)

Hello! I recently purchased two iPad minis (1st gen) from two different stores. I have not opened either box. One box seems different than all the others I have seen. The iPad mini pictured on the front shows a white screen (rather than a dark one) and the iPad font on the sides is not in bold (like the newer mini 2). This box also shows an energy star logo on the back. The model number (MD531LL/A) and upc is exactly the same on each box. The color of each is also the same (silver). does anyone know why the boxes are different? Could one be a fake, or simply a newer box? Thank you!!!!
