Can you delete internet history on your ipod touch using your laptop?

I was doing research for a gift for my brothers upcoming birthday and he's getting really itchy trying to find out what he's getting. He took my ipod and said he would go through it. Is there any way i could delete history before he see's it from my laptop? I do not know the serial number either.
