i have a 13 inch retina macbook pro i got in 2013 (i think). it has a 250 ssd and I'm running out of space. i already have two crucial m500 drives and i was wondering if i could replace my current ssd with one of these.
No. Your machine has a flash drive built in. You cannot change it. If you need space you will have to use an external drive by putting the Crucial SSD into an external enclosure that supports Thunderbolt or USB 3.0.
what about the OWC drives, I've seen them take out the current ssd and replace it with theirs. mine doesn't have that??
The SSDs offered by OWC for retina MBPs are physically different that the Crucial SSDs you refer to. Furthermore, the OWC retina MBP SSDs are only compatible with early 2013 retina MBP or ealier.
