Trash Problems

Would you please specify how did you try to empty the trash? Did you see any error message? Did you try to restart your mac?

You may also check if you have secure empty trash enabled. Click on finder at the top /preferences /advanced/ uncheck empty trash securely

Try to empty it.

If you cannot empty the trash you may try to force empty it.

I would suggest to force empty the trash(see instructions from the article). Open terminal and paste this command there: sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash/*

Press enter and type your password. Once you will type it press enter one more time.

First, never follow the bad advice that circulates on this site to empty the Trash in the shell (Terminal.) Not only is it very dangerous and unnecessary, it usually doesn't work, as you've already found.

Restart the computer and empty the Trash as usual.
