Q: OS X installer not in app store

I am told that after installing Yosemite, the installer is deleted.  I now need to make an installer disk for a new hard drive, but the article says "download OS X installer from the App Store".  When I search for "OS X installer" in the App Store, nothing...  Does it mean I have to download "OS Yosemite - utilites"? which does appear in the App Store?

Is it correct that creating an installer drive on a USB (or external drive) is the only way to get a new hard drive up and running?  I thought there was a way to get set up without this...through an internet connection?  However, with the new drive in my Macbook Pro and LAN cable connected, I still get the flashing folder with question mark.

Any input welcome...thnx
