In Google Chrome I am able to tell my preferences which tabs I want to automatically open when I turn on my computer at the beginning of the day. Is this feature available in Safari?
Yes, the tabs you have will be there when you re-open the app.
make sure in > System Preferences... > General > Close windows when quitting an app is not selected.
Set to open when Safari is started:
1.
first open the Bookmarks list (in the side bar)
make an folder entry directly in the Favorites heading (I named this <Home>)
inside place the Bookmarks of the tabs you want to open (I have placed four bookmarks in this folder)
2.
in Safari Preferences, General Tab,
then the "New Window opens with:" set to Tabs for <Home>
3. Restart Safari et voilà.
