Deleting photos automatically after a sync?

After syncing with my Mac (and importing photos from my camera roll) I would like the photos automatically deleted off my iPhone. How do I do this?

I am sure I had this set up in the past but cannot find the setting. If I go to Photos I can import photos manually and select "Delete items after import", however, this is a rather inelegant and long winded and I would rather this happened automatically after a sync...
