Q: sound, eject button, video card
Hi all,
i just have installed yosemite and bootcamp/w7 on a mac pro. All works fine, except some minor problems in bootcamp environment.
1) no sound.
Although windows hardware manager tells me, that sound and speaker are working, nothing can be heared. And yes, volume is set to maximum ;-)
2) eject button does not work.
3) video is shown in high resolution, but some capabilities of the video card seem to be disabled. One of my software packages (Autopano Giga from kolor.com) works ok, but GPU support and "fast editor" are disabled. On the OS/X side, the Mac version of this software has gpu support and fast editor.
Due to some other posts here concerning sound and eject button, i found Boot Camp-Support-Software 5.1.5621 . Might Boot Camp-Support-Software 5.1.5621 solve my problems, or do i risk to crash my brand new installation to void?
The video problem is the most important for me. Is there a dedicated "video driver" on the bootcamp support, or can i install the Windows Video Driver from the cards manufacturer?
System is: Mac Pro 2010/5.1, Ati Radeon HD5770, Yosemite, Windows 7 ult 64 sp1 all patches installed.
First internal disk is os/x only, second internal disk is bootcamp only.
Thank You!
greetings from germany
Chris

My recommendation is to download the .5621 zip file from Apple and put it on a USB flash drive. Run setup.exe from the Bootcamp folder on this USB and it will install all appropriate drivers. There may be some conflicts if Windows Update provides drives which may not be fully compatible with the .5621 Apple-provided BC drivers. Such conflicts can be resolved.
.5621 supports the following Macs.
