I have tried updating the software on my iPad mini 2 and when I click "Install Now"
It will say "verifying update"
Then an error message box pops up that says
"Unable to install update" An error occurred installing iOS 8.4
My only options are to either click
"Close" or "Settings"
When I choose "Settings" nothing changes & I try again to install and
get same error message
Does anyone know what to do or why the problem?

Have you got enough space on ipad at least 4G
If you haven't delete some Apps / photos you can get them back later.
Before you install 8.4
Do a reboot press & hold power & menu button hold both down until
You see Apple Logo .
Then do software update over your WiFi .

You may have gotten a corrupted download on your first try at downloading the update on your device...
Delete the downloaded iOS update under Settings/General/Usage/Storage/Manage Storage. Find the "iOS 8.4 update" app in the list, tap on it, then tap on the red "Delete App" button.
Download the iOS 8.4 update again from Settings/General/Software Update and try again.
iPad mini will not install iOS 8
