My iPhone 5s is not connecting to any carrier in Brazil

I bought an iPhone 5s in New York and have used it in the US with different carriers but once I moved to Brazil I cannot connect to any carrier. It is not completely blocked because I get the sign from 3G but it does not accept any sin cards from Brazilian Carriers. Any Idea how to solve it? Thanks in advance for any help.
