Why is my snapshot duplicate different from the original?

I am finishing off a project and it needed cutting into sequences. So I made a snap shot duplicate of the finished edit, put markers where I need to break it up , then made another snapshot duplicate from that, deleted the bits I didn't need in that seq and found that the audio was different to the original. On the orginal I had used 2 audio tracks and had keyframed a mix, but on the copy all the levels we back to 0bd. On checking the original edit the audio was fine. I wondered if anyone else has had this and what was happening.
