My Apple MacBook Pro was stolen recently. I haven't registered it online and doesn't have the serial number with me to do it now. Since I got it back in 2012 I don't have original packaging or the invoice to look it up. Its past warranty but I still have the warranty card plus the manual. Can I use this information to find the serial number and track the computer?

Did you turn Find My Mac on?
Yes and as far as I can remember I even registered. But now it doesn't appear on iCloud. I haven't used I cloud since I first looked around back in 2012. So registering maybe for something else. But I enabled the security that were suggested.
Go to Find My iPhone (on the iCloud website) look for the Mac, if you did register it with Find My Mac it will be listed. It will not show a location unless it is switched on and connected to the internet.
I checked. It seems I haven't registered 😟 or made a mistake while I was doing it.
If I can find the serial number, maybe I can give it to the Police. Perhaps there is a non-iCloud method to keep track of devices during an investigation.
