Adding songs to playlist that are not already in my Library

I've written a script that exports my Spotify playlists into iTunes friendly txt files.

When I import these into iTunes, it mostly works, except it only "finds" tracks which I already have in my library.

Is it not possible to add tracks directly from Apple Music, without having to manually add them to my library first?

A manual search shows that the tracks are available, but iTunes ignores them during the import process, choosing instead to only query my Library and not the whole of Apple Music.
