Unable to "check for updates" with new iTunes update
When updating to iTunes 12.2.0.145, I am not unable to "check for updates." I run my iTunes on a Windows 8.1 platform.

I can't check for updates after installing 12.2. I continually get the update server could not be contacted. Yet my apps will update and I get get onto my account and access the store. This has been a problem since 12.2 was installed.
Why are you checking for updates? History suggests that it'll be several months before a new release of iTunes (unless there a 12.2.1 or 12.3 scheduled to coincide with the release of Windows 10 at the end of this month).
just habit I guess I guess. But it should tell me no update is not available not that I can't connect to the server. Right?
Same issue for me Gator5000e. iTunes 12.2.0 is installed and runs. Apps will update, but update attempts for iTunes updates get: "The iTunes update server could not be contacted." ever since.
Yes, it appears that there is an issue with Help > Check for Updates. However, Apple Software Update is working and the iTunes download pages report that 12.2 is the current version.
