Q: Playlists - Why is playlist with Apple Music showing as not in iCloud?

iOS - Apple 6+ - latest OS, latest version of Apple Music.  iCloud Music turned on

Mac - latest OS, latest version of Apple Music.

PC - Windows 7, latest version of Apple Music

I created a new playlist through the desktop Apple Music app on my PC. I started the playlist using one song from the Apple Music library, NOT a song from my personal library.  The playlist shows, the song shows, but the playlist shows a cloud with a line through it (this generally means it's not synced with iCloud and can't be viewed on other devices, only the device it was created on).

- The new playlist doesn't show in Apple Music on my iOS device nor on my Mac (all have latest OS updates and Apple Music and iCloud Music turned on).

- I also cannot add additional Apple Music songs to the playlist.  Even if I click Add to My Music and then try to add it to the playlist - it still doesn't show.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello chathamsolutions

I understand that you have a playlist not available on your Apple Music on iOS, but do have it available on your PC. This kind of problem often happens when your iCloud Music Library is not up to date!
To instruct iCloud Music Library to update your songs please go to iTunes>File>Library>Update iCloud Music Library, wait until Apple gather all information about your library and sent it to servers, you can now see the progress at the same place of downloading section, after that, you can check it again, please try access again your playlist created on PC over your Apple Music on iOS.
Let me know if you still having trouble!

    Thank you.

Yes, the problem I'm having is that the Loved items aren't syncing across iOS, Mac and PC.  I have a Smart Playlist for my Loved songs, and it's not syncing.

I understand what you're saying, that I have to update the iCloud Music library.

How do I do this on a PC?

I go to File --> Library --> and the only options are Turn OFF Home Sharing and Get Album Artwork.

I've looked elsewhere and can't find it.

How do I do this on my iPhone?

I also attempted to find it, but was unable to.

    Thank you!

    Hello there again!

    Thanks for replying me!

Well, first, make sure you are with iTunes 12.2 (White Logo) on your PC.
So, let's get a look on your iPhone if it has iCloud Music Library available.
    Please go to Settings>Music>
At Library section make sure that "iCloud Music Library is set "On" (green).
If it is, make sure Apple Server is available to hand services at the moment, you can check it when you open up again your Apple Music app on your iOS, if there's no messages including error about your iCloud Music Library, so, it's everything OK on your iPhone, let's go to your iTunes to see if your problem is there then.

Go to iTunes and make sure you have iTunes 12.2, click on "Help" and "About iTunes" to make sure.
iTunes 12.2 is this logo now!

If it is your version of iTunes, please make sure to follow like my print screen to get your iCloud Music Library Updated!iTunesUpdate.png

Note that when you click to update your library. now the status are shown at downloads as you're downloading a song or app.
Wait until iCloud Music Library is up to date and check your Music app again!

    Hope I helped you now!

Still here if you need more help!

    Thanks dudualmeida.

I do have iCloud Music Library turned on, on my iPhone.

I just discovered I needed to follow these directions, to show the Menu bar.  Without the Menu bar, I wasn't able to follow the recommendations you were giving.  They simply weren't there.

Turn on iTunes menus in Windows 7 and 8 - Apple Support

I found the iCloud update button now.  Thank you.
