Do i need to upgrade pages to work with ibooks author?

When i try to open an .iba theres an alert saying that I need a new version of pages but it hadn't happened before while working in ibooks author and i dont know if i need to buy the software or whats happening.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

The current version of Pages (5.5.3) was released April 21, 2015 so make sure you have that version. I am surprised to hear of what sounds like a Pages dependency in iBooks Author. My understanding is that there isn't a dynamic link with a Pages document whose content has been brought into iBA. Rather, that content is copied and, thus, exists independently of Pages. Perhaps you could share a screenshot when that appears again.
