Check boxes and play counts not appearing in iTunes playlist mode

Some of my playlists (the ones I created before the update) still look like they used to, but any new playlists I create have a different look and don't have the option of checking/unchecking songs. Play counts have also disappeared from playlist mode. I have "Show List Checkboxes" selected but still nothing.
