since installing OS 10.10.4 update apple mail has stopped receiving email with gmail?

July the second I updated OS 10.10.4 as advised and since then apple mail has stopped receiving email with gmail? I'm using gmail as it stops so much spam but I organise myself with Apple mail. I have done all the suggestions people advise but to no avail. Can someone help? Thanks.
