Grayed out Apple ID (not mine) preventing installation of updates.

Since the inception of iTunes, I have never encountered an issue as strange as this. While attempting to install updated, this sign-in box appeared with an Apple ID that isn't mine, which is grayed out, preventing me from replacing it with mine, rendering me unable to install the updates. I tried to remedy the problem by signing out and then in again with my correct Apple ID and password. When I attempted to install the updates again, it did the same thing.
