my iMac and iPhone see each on on Bluetooth and pair but will not connect

My IPhone and IMac have discovered each other on Bluetooth and have paired, but they will not connect. Message on computer says that "Network is unavailable. Make sure network access is enabled" How?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.4, iMac OS 10.10.4

Are you trying to use personal hotspot? That is the only thing that an iPhone will pair to a computer for. The following has information in the Bluetooth section about connecting to a network: iOS: Troubleshooting Personal Hotspot - Apple Support


If you are trying to use Continuity or Airdrop, the devices use Bluetooth but don't pair. See the following: Bluetooth: Why can't I pair my iPhone or iPad with another iOS device or with my computer?
