Q: Why does the streaming from Macbook Air to AppleTV lag while no problem to stream from IPhone???

I have a Macbook Air bought in November 2014, an appleTV received at Xmas and an old Iphone 5.

When I try to stream (f.e. a video from YouTube) from the Iphone to the AppleTv, it works great but when I try to do the same thing from the MacBook Air it lags a lot.

Is it linked with the modem that doesn't offer a 5Ghz Wifi?

I tried to use Beamer and it works fine but I would like to solve te problem without using workarounds.

Even installed OS 10.10.4 but didn't change anything.
