i can only open my app in app store

I lost my iPod and had to buy a new one. I started to set it up and download my apps. I then went to download my music and discovered that I could recover everything from my old one. Yay! I then noticed that some of the apps I had downloaded had disappeared. I went into the app store and it said it was still downloaded. They open fine that way but I really don't want to have to search it up every time I want to use it, especially considering it is doing that with about 4 different apps. Please help!

iPod touch, iOS 8.4

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Screen layout

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Backup and restore from backup. See:

How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

Last, restore to factory settings/new iPod and syn or redownload the apps.
