Can't charge, can't power down

Suddenly developed a significant problem with my iPhone6+. It won't charge, tried multiple cables and connections. Nor will it power down. Holding the power button doesn't bring up the slider.

Anyone know what's going on, and what I can do?

Thanks very much.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for at least 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.

Next step after that would be connecting in recovery mode, using the original USB cable. Recovery mode is explained in this article:

If you can't update or restore your iOS device
