I recently updated my iPhone 6 to ios 8.4 and I have now lost the ability to control my music from the lock screen, I'm not even able to do it from the control panel does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Did you allowed Control Centre to appear on Lock Screen?
Settings > Control Centre > Access on Lock Screen: ON?
If you do, and you cannot pull up the CC from the bottom of the screen, do a forced restart:
