    Upload means taking from the computer and putting it on a device or network.   I think you mean download.    It would help to know, which camera make and model number you are using and if you are using any custom software from the camera vendor.

    If you use RAW imagery from a camera, Apple has this to say about 10.10 and RAW:

    OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support

     

    Generally speaking you can get the images off any camera, using a digital media card reader either on a multifunction printer, or via USB from Sansdisk if your Mac does not have a built-in SD card.  Those with built-in SD cards can only use SD cards through the built-in port, but USB card readers exist for nearly every format.
