Macbook Pro can't connect to xfinity

Hi,

I recently moved houses and am using buddy's wifi at his place. I have connected to the Xfinity wifi with my iPad mini and my wifes macbook air no issues.

But with my 2013 macbook pro running on OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

I can't get on the wifi.

In the wifi bar at the top I can locate the xfinitywifi service and select it. So the tick appears. But no log in window appears or pops up like it does on my iPhone or iPad and also did on the macbook air?

If I open Safari nothing happens or just says your not connected to the internet.

Please help?

I have connect to wifi via router with ethernet cable and talked with xfinity support to no avail.

Thank you.
