woke up this morning and battery was flat so i plugged it into charge ( geniune apple cable and wall adapter)
it showed the battery status then 30 minutes later i checked it still hasnt turned on. wont even show battery status,
tried holding the reset button for 10 seconds still nothing,
any help would be greatly appreciated

tried that but no luck.
If nothing at all happens after holding for 30 seconds then your hardware has failed. It may just be the battery, or it may some other failure. Take it to an Apple store for diagnosis. Make an appointment first. http://concierge.apple.com/reservation/us/en/techsupport/
yeah, i took it to my phone provider and they're sending it off to apple, roughly 2 week wait unfortunately,
i pressed the lock button this morning and it displayed the battery and the lighting cable to show needs charging but then 5 minutes later nothing would show on the screen.
