BMW vs. iOS 8.4 - disconnecting

Updated my iPhone 6 Plus to iOS 8.4 and am a paying member of Apple Music.

When I listen to Beats1 or other streaming content from Apple Music's Radio on headphones, it works fine. When I connect to my BMW i3 via USB or Bluetooth the phone disconnects and the streaming drops after 2 minutes. All other Apple Music content works fine whether it's streamed or played locally from the iPhone. It's only the Radio-based content that caused the phone to lose connection.

I've tried a hard reset. And, I've tried resetting the network connections. I've deleted and re-paired the phone to the car. And, I've tried restarting. Streaming content from multiple sources worked before in iOS 8.3.

I've seen other reports of similar behavior on different forums. Would love any suggestions you all have.

I've tried the same steps you've done and haven't found a solution yet. What's maddening is this isn't happening 100% of the time. At this point, it looks like a bug that needs to be addressed whenever Apple gets around to it. As it stands, no reason to switch from Spotify if you can't enjoy your music in the car.

the problem isn't with Apple Music or your BMW necessarily. The same thing is happening in my X5 and I think the problem is this:

beats1 is live... when you listen to it on your iPhone, if you look at the timeline it shows something like this "--:--" meaning it has no end time. when you stream beats1 via Bluetooth to iDrive, you'll notice the time remaining starts to flip out, reset itself, then finally get stuck on 00:00 remaining.. i think iDrive is getting confused by the lack of time reported for these tracks streaming from beats1 and eventually just disconnects.

this doesn't happen when you stream a track from My Music, or through regular radio or pandora or spotify, because those services don't have a live radio and the tracks end times are reported correctly.

pretty sure sure this is the problem, but I don't know who would be responsible for a fix, Apple or BMW..

When I ride my bicycle, I use AirPlay and Bluetooth speaker (Philips). Works excellent. However I am back on the previous style of Music management, it means: I just buy good music tracks/albums and I will never enable Apple Music and iCloud Music Library again on any of my devices (they are still fruit-logo marked only, but I am not a fan now, I just have them currently, and yet).
