My IPod 5 Shut Off.

I was watching Netflix and when I went to check my ipod it was already off, plus my home button doesn't work. Can someone please help me. My ipod is generation 5 and a 32gb. I tried holding the top buttom but still. I don't know if i leave it charging all night or what?
