After lightning hit my house, killing a couple of electronics, i had to replace my ethernet hub and apple extreme (old n version). i went to stream a movie to my apple tv and it could not connect to internet via wifi or ethernet after messing around for i while i concluded the network chip must of died from the lightning also. the night before the apple tv was working fine, even after the tstorm. any suggestions?

SSince you changed your Wi-Fi, you have to change (update) your network settings on the Apple TV.
YOu might also want to reset it by unplugging the power cable for about 30 seconds.
the apple tv doesn't give me an option to chose wifi, just ethernet. after further inspection it seems that everything connected to the ethernet hub was fried 😟 including the ethernet port on my macbook pro, the airport extreme, apple tv... I did a factory reset and update to the apple tv by connecting it to my macbook
