iBooks won't play audiobooks

since audiobooks were moved to iBooks they won't play. The appear in the list and when I tap on them I get this little cirle thing but it stops and nothing ever happens. there don't seem to be any settings to this app, so not sure what to do.i guess I'll use audible since iBooks is not working but it's not ideal.
